This 10"x10" acrylic mixed media and collage piece is a colourful, floral composition that exudes a soft, dreamlike quality. Inspired by the beautiful cherry tree in my driveway when the springtime blossoms pop at first slowly, then in a rush exploding out like a bowl of popcorn.
What sets "Spring Popcorn" apart is the use of collage and stencils to define and stylize different blossom areas and to create an interplay of light and shadow. This process allowed me to experiment and push the boundaries of traditional painting techniques, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind artwork.
