Script in Four Movements - A Quadriptych
Home is not always a place. Sometimes it is a language we spend a lifetime learning to speak. There is a story here if we take the time to listen, pieced together from fragments of moments carried forward through time.
Script in Four Movements grew from years of studio sketches, torn fragments, experimental marks, and unfinished ideas carried forward from one work into the next. Each panel contains pieces of earlier paintings and earlier explorations, gathered, broken apart, and reassembled into something new.
The marks resemble writing without becoming words. They suggest memory rather than narrative, traces rather than explanations. Repeating bands of colour move through the panels like punctuation, creating rhythm, pause, and connection.
For me, these four panels speak to home as a place of return. Not a physical location, but a creative and emotional landscape built over time through repetition, exploration, and making. The work carries evidence of where I have been, what I have kept, and what I continue to discover.
Together the panels form a visual record of accumulation: fragments of thought, memory, experience, and process layered into a shared whole. The invitation is not to decode their meaning, but to dwell within them, allowing recognition to arise before understanding.
What remains is the beautifully imperfect record of a life, a practice, and a sense of belonging assembled one fragment at a time.
